Advantages
1. Convenience - Buy from the comfort of your home or office.
2. Full Information - A buyer can check all the information about the item that is for sale.
He can review any terms of payment that will be applicable.
The buyers can check the feedback ratings on the seller.
And check what other trades they have participated in and what other items they are selling.
3. Time Saving - Shopping can consume more time compared to online auctions.
4. Choice - The buyer can view hundreds of similar items before making the decision to join the auction.
Disadvantages
1. Overpaying - it is easy to get carried away in a bidding contest and pay over the odds for the item that you want.
2. Fakes - Some items may be fakes, Sometimes the item being sold may not match the description.

You may pay for an item that never gets delivered.
